About us

Welcome to our home. 

Kwakhanya Social Enterprise Foundation was established in 2019 and founded on the principles of creating opportunities for others whilst transforming our society in general through our services. Holistic is not only a word that is used in this organization but our founding principle, this organization is taking the shape of the people's needs and the societal challenges from Student who struggles with internships to homeless people, etc. 

Not only do we provide the services but we are on the ground meaning working in the formerly disadvantaged communities and outside these communities gives us a direct understanding of the needs of the people and communities. We have first-hand experience and the know-how to deal with and help others to overcome. 

In our organization, we see ourselves as the wing of the State and the Community we reach in places where Government and Corporate South Africa cannot reach. 

We don't serve the numbers but are genuine in our work 

Mission: Though not a simple one we remain committed to the goal of reducing poverty stressors in marginalized communities Vision: To realize the national transformation of the socio-economic advancement and protection of the most vulnerable citizens

CEO and Founder

Vuyo Makapela is a registered social worker with 8 years of experience in all fields of specialization in the social work profession. She has 15 years of experience in stakeholder management, skills development, and community development and she is passionate about family reunification. 

Her major fields of expertise are: 

  • Clinical social work (trauma counseling, PTSD, TF-CBT)
  • Child and youth services
  • Services to families
  • Older persons
  • Probation and Correctional Services
  • Supervision (clients, workers, and students)
  • Presentation, report writing, and research.

Siviwe Mdini-Qumza

Executive Director and Stakeholder Manager

Siviwe Mdini-Qumza has a qualification in financial management, bookkeeping, and wholesale-retail management. She has 15 years of finance and client management experience. She has more than 10 years of experience in community, family reunification, and pastoral care service.

Managing Director and Outreach Programs Coordinator

Unathi is a qualified registered social worker with 3 years of experience in all fields. Further, she has 10 years of experience in client stakeholder management. Unathi is passionate about community and youth development.
